Air Arabia will reintroduce daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This route revival restores a direct air connection between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. Announced on October 6, the airline stated that passengers can now book tickets for the service. The daily flights will link Ras Al Khaimah International Airport directly with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the renewed route will provide travelers with daily direct connectivity between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline did not specify the departure and arrival times in its October 6 announcement, nor did it mention the aircraft type or flight numbers for the daily service. Those specifics were not included in the latest statement either.
Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the route’s reinstatement. He emphasized that the daily flights would offer travelers a convenient link between the two cities. Al Ali also highlighted the airline’s ongoing commitment to providing dependable travel options and fostering community connections. The decision to restart the route was driven by travel demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode. The airline, however, did not disclose passenger forecasts or traffic estimates.
Daily flights reestablish Kerala link
This Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations like Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The resumed India service will expand that roster from October 16. Since establishing operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. At that time, the route operated three times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming restart aims to increase the frequency to daily, although the airline has yet to confirm if the previous flight numbers or departure times will be used.
Booking options available ahead of October launch
Passengers can now reserve their seats via Air Arabia’s website, call center, or through travel agencies. The airline reaffirmed these booking channels when announcing the October restart. The statement did not specify when the service was previously halted or the reasons behind the interruption. It also did not provide details on fares, exact operating times, or aircraft assignments for the new daily schedule. The focus was solely on the restart date, frequency, and direct city pair.
The October 16 resumption marks nearly three years since the Kozhikode route was first launched. This service will once again offer a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline confirmed daily flights starting from the restart date, other schedule specifics remain undisclosed. Travelers seeking precise timings, flight numbers, or fares should consult Air Arabia’s booking channels for current information. No further route changes have been announced by the airline.
