    MIAX Exchange Group reports 25.5% increase in multi-list options ADV YTD

    PRINCETON, N.J. and MIAMI, Sept. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Miami International Holdings, Inc. (MIAX) (NYSE: MIAX), a technology-driven leader in building and operating regulated financial markets across multiple asset classes, today reported August 2026 trading results for its U.S. exchange subsidiaries — MIAX®, MIAX Pearl®, MIAX Emerald® and MIAX Sapphire® (collectively, the MIAX Exchange Group), and MIAX Futures®.

    August 2026 Highlights

    • MIAX Exchange Group reached a record year-to-date (YTD) average daily volume (ADV) of 11.0 million contracts through August 2026, a 25.5% increase from the same period in 2025
    • MIAX Exchange Group set a YTD market share record of 17.1% through August 2026, compared to 16.5% in the prior-year period

    Educational geography classrooms display large physical world map charts on classroom walls. The focus is specifically on the popular Mercator map projection, created in the 16th century by Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator for maritime navigation. While it serves nautical purposes well, its mathematical scaling causes landmasses farther from the equator to appear disproportionately large, while regions near the equator are compressed. The United Nations General Assembly’s documents state that these technical distortions persist in current educational textbooks, media broadcasts, digital maps, and official government publications worldwide. During assembly discussions, delegates recognized that cartographic distortions extend beyond technical issues into broader social, economic, and cultural spheres. They observed that visual inaccuracies influence public perceptions of the economic, political, and cultural significance of entire continents. To address this, the UN has adopted a resolution endorsing equal-area projections like the Equal Earth model introduced in 2018, which accurately reflects continent sizes in relation to each other. UN Resolution Backs Adoption of the Equal Earth Projection This decision follows a proposal led by a coalition of African nations and supported by the African Union, which submitted the draft resolution in August. Proponents emphasized that traditional world maps, which depict Greenland as roughly the same size as Africa, create serious geographic misconceptions, considering Africa is actually fourteen times larger.
